Eclipse observation in front of Garching TU Mensa
On Friday, March 20, the moon swings in front of the sun creating a partial solar eclipse in Germany. In Munich, the eclipse begins at 9:31 a.m., the maximum coverage (68 percent) occurs at about 10:39 and the end of the eclipse will be at 11:50 a.m. On the occasion, the Excellence Cluster Universe will set up its small 20-cm telescope on the terrace in front of the TU Mensa on the Research Campus Garching for a public solar eclipse observation from 9:30 until 12 am. 100 loan eclipse eyeglasses are available.
