Best "Universe" doctoral theses 2017 are set
Thomas Siegert (MPE) and Claudius Krause (LMU) received the Universe PhD Award 2017 of the Cluster of Excellence Universe for their outstanding dissertations. The award ceremony took place on Thursday, 18 January 2018.
The jury’s decision:
- In the category "Experiment", the Excellence Cluster Universe honors Dr. Thomas Siegert (MPE) for his excellent dissertation "Positron-Annihilation Spectroscopy throughout the Milky Way" with the Universe PhD Award 2017.
- Dr. Claudius Krause receives the Universe PhD Award 2017 in the category "Theory" for his outstanding dissertation "Higgs Effective Field Theories - Systematics and Applications". Claudius Krause received his doctorate from the LMU and is now doing research at the Instituto de Física Corpuscular at the University of Valencia in Spain.
The award ceremony took place on Thursday, 18 January from 11:00 to 12:30 at the MPE Garching in the seminar room UG.
